Irish UFC star and former professional boxer Conor McGregor is in the money this weekend after a wise, shrewd bit of tipping.
McGregor lumped half a million cash on Diaz to beat Masvidal by any way tonight.
Masvidal lost to Nate Diaz by majority decision.
A close call but nonetheless one that sees the Dubliner win his wager.
Some win here all things considering.
It will be interesting to see when McGregor has his next professional boxing match.
Most likely in 2025.
He also co-owns the bareknuckle boxing promotion in the US but has not been really pushing that lately.
That, and the other new combat sport, power slap, both seem to be doing huge numbers.
In terms of fan interest and more importantly for us, more boxers even seem to be going to both formats.
We shall keep an eye on it, and both, moving forward, in these interesting times for boxing.
