Shakur Stevenson is out the gap and good riddance to Bob Arum’s Top Rank now and Ryan Garcia has put the boot in on his last fight there.
Garcia is more sober in recent days, impressively, as after all, no one takes anything a drunk person says seriously.
That’s why him still upping his savage a notch, is quite refreshing, in terms of his sober candid response here on the fight at the weekend:
“Best NyQuil sleep time commercial ever made, well done NyQuil”
“No Timothy Bradley just sucks your nutz everytime you fight, truth is he needs to be fired and should keep it with the fans You aren’t like that buddy, everyone and I mean everyone knows you are terrified in that ring You fight like a scared man and punch like a *****”
While Garcia might not be exactly right in much of that, Stevenson is pure grade and top notch quality, at least he is sober in recent days.
Stevenson regardless of what Garcia or anyone says has the ability to go to the very top, and we do mean, the very, very top, pound for pound.
It’s all down to him really. The sky is the limit in more ways than one. Even more than Garcia. Another talented fighter.
As regards what happened with ESPN at the weekend, Stevenson may have some merit in terms of what happened:
“A whole big *** organization trying the hardest to tear lil ole me down is wild.. And I’m still gone prevail”
Referring to when at the weekend ESPN showed people leaving in the crowd during his fight.
It was the final round however, which many people didn’t realize, and many people leave at the last round of any fight night anywhere anyway to avoid traffic and the crowd.
It was also his last fight with Bob Arum’s Top Rank who are heavily aligned with ESPN as their broadcaster, so obviously as it was his last fight with them they wanted to make him look bad.
Good riddance.
Bigger and better things, and bigger and, much, much better people, are ahead for Stevenson.
That’s the truth of it when it all boils to it in life.
Out with the old and in with the new.
