Shakur Stevenson in an emotional statement has made a point that only real boxing fans will truly understand in the sweet science.
Boxing is not always about knockouts as Claressa Shields said recently. Sure though, we all love seeing knockouts.
Sure, Gervonta “Tank” Davis is a tank and a knockout artist. But as reported here — this probably sums it up best by Stevenson himself:
A big reaction to the above already with many agreeing, clearly. Indeed Tank is blessed with the brick fists.
Stevenson blessed with a defence the likes of which probably has not been around since Floyd Mayweather. There was moments of defensive genius last weekend.
His speed and punch power will come along too as his technical ability improves even more Stevenson. He will start sitting down on punches more even off the back foot as time goes on.
Both Stevenson and Davis know one another well and have sparred before. The time will come when the fight happens. If not this year, then next.
What a special fight it will be too. Two special athletes.
In their own unique ways, per the above.
