Olympic boxing season is upon us later this month and there’s a lot happening around Gervonta Davis and team USA surprisingly.
Team USA have been doing a little bit better in the Olympics over the last two games’ cycles.
Later this month the 2024 Games get underway in Paris, France, which Russia and Belarus are banned from this year.
Team USA want to draft in Gervonta Davis as an adviser for the team shortly in Europe.
However Davis is on probation at the moment for an offence in 2023 so he must request this from Judge Althea Handy to travel from the US to France shortly.
Hopefully the request is allowed as it would help team USA and the country hugely in a terrible time for America at the moment where American boxers can give a lift to the country.
They need Gervonta Davis there badly as the best pound for pound American fighter professionally on Earth at the moment. He is light years ahead of amateur and Olympic boxing and him being there will lift the team.
As long as Davis’ legal team are not arrogant and hopefully Davis keeps quiet, he can go and it will be a win-win for him, the judge, team USA and certainly America.
What a week its been so far for Davis and his team.
Further, Judge Handy may also note this week that Davis’ coach Calvin Ford had a case with two charges of deadly assault dismissed in Nevada entirely this week.
Case dismissed. Very impressive. Very good.
All systems go for team Davis and hopefully for team USA shortly.
We know judge Handy will do the right thing for the country this week.
Davis (and his lawyer) have both learned their lessons.
The conduct from both of them won’t happen again.
