Arguably the greatest all-Russian boxing match will take place soon and one of the fighters Beterbiev is rolling the dice in training.
It is hoped the fight will take place between Dmitry Bivol and Artur Beterbiev on October 12th.
It is thought final details are being worked out to stage it but Beterbiev is in the thick of training already:
Going back to the old school Rocky type training there in the mountains for his preparations.
Bivol will be training just as hard at the moment.
Not only is it the biggest all-Russian boxing match in world championship boxing history, it also marks a few other things.
It is the bringing together of arguably two of the hardest punchers pound for pound outside of Gervonta Davis and some others, of these times.
Of this particular era.
Beterbiev as a pro is 100 per cent record of knockouts from all his twenty fights so far.
Of course Bivol beat pound for pound rated and future all-time great Saul Canelo Alvarez not long ago.
So, Bivol vs Beterbiev’s winner could stage a claim for the top one to three sports pound for pound in the world after this fight.
Whether the winner goes past Terence Crawford or Usyk on that list remains to be seen.
It depends on the performance.
