Heavyweight Banned From Boxing For 2 Years

A well known heavyweight has been hit with the most severe penalty available in all of professional boxing.

Usually a year for doping in boxing is typically what we see in professional boxing.

So to get the 2 year ban, which is devastating for a pro boxer, who’s career is so short anyway to begin with, is bad to put it mildly. Bad for boxing too, mind you.

Robert Helenius has got that, here’s the details from Michael Benson:

Two years for him likely is career ending.

That’s two years out of professional sport and no fights.

Very hard to get back into fight shape after that.

Then again, many think PEDs in boxing require an even bigger ban.

Some say that fighters should be banned for life for failing drugs test.

There is some merit to the argument too.

In professional boxing combatants can actually kill one another in the ring.

Thus making the stakes even higher when using PEDs.
