The Manny Pacquiao vs Anpo boxing match in Japan was part of a big weekend of combat sport in Japan.
The fight itself showed Pacquiao to struggle at times with the taller, younger and bigger kickboxing opponent.
Even though it was under boxing rules Pacquiao got caught with shots frequently but had a little success with his own punches late on in the third.
Here is what much of the boxing world thought of the fight today in Japan — that was scored a draw as there were no judges involved after the 3 rounds of action:

Manny “PacMan” Pacquiao was not necessarily at his best against Anpo, but was starting to warm up at the end of the of the 3rd round!

There is undoubtedly some ring rust to pound out and I think with another exhibition with more rounds, it’ll be a different story. #Boxing… pic.twitter.com/8HeAYkry6p
This should put an end to the Pacquiao vs. Barrios talks. Would like to get Boots vs. Barrios next but it'll prolly be Barrios vs. Stanionis unification https://t.co/7Ip6u93Dmg

Manny Pacquiao needs to retire. He is a legend but he lost this one for sure. https://t.co/CPmvOUDr4O

After that exhibition performance soon to be 46 #MannyPacquiao needs to go back into retirement, permanently. It's a game for young man, & those that are active. Anyone that promotes or sacations any fight with Manny #Pacquiao nowadays should be castrated!!! #Phillipines #Boxing

The official result to the exhibition is a draw to save face.
Pacquiao better stay retired pic.twitter.com/Te5jy2V3Vm
By all accounts Pacquiao looked beyond washed in his exhibition fight in Japan. No surprise for an inactive 45 year old. It's probably not a good idea to go through with the Barrios fight. There are other ways for Pacquiao to make money in boxing such as these exhibition fights.

Anpo (28) failing to defeat the old Pacquiao (45) is showing no growth in Boxing game.

Yes Respect to Pacquiao

Pacquiao is an old man 46 years old and no footwork, no head movement and very slow yet you can't knock him out but congratulations for a great performance 💪
— Lingo_Jeyy Affliate (@AffliateJe27350) July 28, 2024
Manny Pacquiao should stay retired. He’s old af. He’s done. I don’t wanna see my hero get beaten up. His family should never let him get in the ring again. Too dangerous. He has nothing left to prove anyway.
— Noms (@noamssy) July 28, 2024
Pacquiao got beat up by Ugas who then took a beating by Spence. Spence would’ve given Pacquiao a beating. Barrios would beat him up. Stay retired.

Manny Pacquiao a shadow of his former self and frankly beaten up at times as he goes the distance in his exhibition fight vs Rukiya Anpo in Tokyo. Bout ruled a draw by default with no judges, but three hard rounds for the 45-year-old vs a Japanese kickboxer. Pacquiao has been in…

Should stay retired. Will make enough money from exhibitions easily

45 year olds are not fit enough to go at it with younger men.
— Tom (@t462819104) July 28, 2024
End of story.
yeah safe to say it is done. no more pro bouts for the great Manny Pacquiao
— Loy (@loypize) July 28, 2024
Pacquiao look like he is in a ring with some heavyweight. The height and weight difference is massive. But the japanese seems gassing out very early. Few more rounds manny could have finish him.
— Brensterrr (@brensterrrr) July 28, 2024
Some clowns abused me on here when i said he should completely retire 🤡
— SENYO (@ItsTheD0n) July 28, 2024
A wide range of responses there.
Whatever he chooses to do, it has been a heck of a career.
Legendary Filipino and boxer, without question.
