Claressa Shields has done the impossible this weekend in boxing and frankly in all of professional sport at the highest level.
Starting out as just a super-welterweight, the only 2 time Olympic female gold winner in amateur boxing history — moved all the way up to heavyweight this weekend.
Winning the women’s heavyweight title and saying this on X:
Indeed.
Shields is now also a five-weight world champion as a professional.
America and professional sport is very, very lucky and fortunate to have this young lady, only a kid, she’s just a baby at 29-years old, and is already a living legend.
Easily, by a country mile, the best, greatest ever female boxer that ever lived.
A credit to herself and the United States.
Stellar, exemplary, outstanding — there is not enough words in the dictionary to describe what she achieved this weekend.
Kudos.
