Just 15 months old Francis Ngannou’s son passed in a terrible tragedy. Now he opens up on it for the first time.
Not long ago heavyweight boxer Ngannou shared a boxing ring with Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.
The bigger battle has been outside the ring however when his young son sadly passed away due to a medical emergency with a rare malformation on his brain.
Speaking to Joe Rogan, Ngannou said:
“My phone rings and it’s my little brother. He say bro, things are not going well here. I’m like what is it, Kobe (his son’s name) passed out? He’s not breathing? We are at the hospital, they kicked me out from the room. I’m like, what’s happened? As we are talking, he is also trying to get information. As we are talking, he is also trying to get information. I lose him for like 3 or 4 minutes (loses his brother on the phone). Then I call him again and I’m talking to him while he’s talking to the nurse. The nurse was like who are you? Are you his dad? No I’m his uncle. His dad is not here. He’s gone (she said then). Just like that. He’s gone (she said again). What do you mean (the uncle he’s said)? He’s gone (the nurse said). How come he’s gone (Francis Ngannou said to his brother on the phone)?”
He added:
“It’s still a mystery there. So let’s do the autopsy. That’s where the final word is out.”
Condolences to Ngannou and his family on the loss.
