Terence Crawford was actually brutally shot that not many people in boxing even know about.
A savage act of brutality one night nearly ended it all before he became the best fighter in the world of boxing. Pound for pound.
Speaking to Logan Paul on his podcast he said of being shot in the head and drove himself to the hospital and waited for 5 hours (in 2008 when he was 4-0)
“(Shot) In the neck. I got hit in the bottom of the head. It was more people in the ER with more severe injuries then I had. Man it was so many people coming to the ER jacked up from all different kind of stuff. Well there’s was life threatening. You’re going to be alright (they told him in hospital).”
He added:
“I don’t know who shot me. Not at all (interested in revenge). Boxing bullets. Man, it is behind me now. So I really don’t care too much to talk about it. My life has changed dramatically. I’m in a way different mental space. I’m a different person. On top of that God has blessed me with a second chance, second and third chance. I just like to be more positive and look towards the future without looking in the rear view.”
Class act.
Taking the high round and not pursue the individual who tried to murder him.
16 years on he’s now 40-0.
Today, he is the best pound for pound boxer in the world.
Things worked out alright.
He returns back to action this weekend in LA in a stadium fight.
