Two of their young female fighters were in action.
Jennifer Lozano lost out to Finland 5-0 per X on their official account reporting.
It was only her Olympic debut at 50kg so a newbie to the sport and can come again.
Fighting in the women’s welterweight division for the US Morelle McCane took on Navbakhor Khamidova of Uzbekistan.
McCane lost by very close decision 3-2.
Hard luck to both but both have an exciting future ahead.
Well done to Uzbekistan and Finland.
