Big news has come a short time ago, just now, for Team USA who have now secured their first medal in boxing in the 2024 Olympics.
Boxer Omari Jones took to the quarter finals moments ago at the 2024 Olympics.
He was representing team USA at 71kg and taking on Bulgaria.
After two rounds, he was up 20-18 on all of the judges’ scorecards.
He then proceeded to win by hammering the Bulgarian 5-0 and winning every round.
The fight results are now in per Keith Idec:
“American Omari Jones was dominant again in beating Bulgaria’s Rami Kiwan unanimously, 5-0, in a welterweight quarterfinal that just ended. Orlando’s Jones, 1 of 2 Team USA fighters still alive in Paris, advanced to the semifinals Tuesday. Opponent TBD.”
