Terence Crawford Reacts To His Fight With Israil Madrimov

Israil Madrimov put on an unreal fight and show in LA with Terence Crawford in elite level championship boxing.

A real pound for pound fight was exhibited.

Speaking after the fight Crawford said:

“I felt great (at 154 lbs.). It was no different from 147 lbs. to be honest. Israil was just a tough opponent. We know that coming in the gate.”

He added:

“It wasn’t disrupting me or anything. was his patience. He was just patient. He was just waiting. He would just feint, feint, feint. He would just wait until he get a little closer, a little closer. He was real patient in there. He wasn’t rushing in there with nothing. He wasn’t winging those wild punches like we had seen him in the previous fights. He was very disciplined.”

He went on:

“The right hand wasn’t bothering me. I wasn’t really too much worried about the right hand. He landed a couple of times near the end of the round where he was trying to still the read. I was just trying to counter, counter him but at the same time he had a good game plan. He had a lot of feints, I was just trying to dictate when he was going to come and a lot of times I was wrong.”

He said more on him:

“Like I said he was just waiting on me. At the same time he was just trying to me when I was trying to counter him. It was a case of counter to counter. I was touching him up with the jab. I think my jab was beating him all throughout the fight. You know he landed a couple of right hands that was telling for the judges or the fans but it was nothing I hadn’t seen before. No, we knew he had good movement. We knew he had good head movement. We knew he was strong. We knew he was durable. If I was to say anything that surprised me was that was his patience. He was real patient in there.”

Alas, it was a battle often times of two fighters trying to counter one another.

Even though Crawford’s opponent had 10 pro fights he had well over 300 amateur fights.

The amateur pedigree he had really showed too on the night.

A tricky style and a tough customer who would beat many at 154 lbs.

Another weight class world title for Crawford in the end.
