Manny Pacquiao had tried to get to the Olympics this year for his country but it was not to be.
Instead a small contingent of Filipino boxers went to France and so far have represented the country with distinction.
Pacquiao a short time ago commenting on the latest boxing medal win for the nation saying on X:
“Another proud moment for the Philippines! Congratulations Aira Villegas for winning bronze in boxing at the Paris 2024 Olympics! We, the Filipinos, are incredibly proud of you. Salamat, Aira! Mabuhay ka!#ProudFilipino#PinoyPride”
Indeed.
Pacquiao himself recently participated an exhibition boxing bout in Japan where he didn’t have a great night.
It is thought in the weeks ahead Pacquiao will decide on taking one last title run in professional boxing or maybe having one more exhibition before one last boxing professional bout.
To get ready for it before hand.
As for the Olympics 2024, in a world increasingly unsettled and with major violence happening all the time in many countries, where civil war is now inevitable in the West quite soon, it is good to see the East continuing to rise on a positive note in the Olympics.
