Canelo Alvarez’ former promoter clearly is still salty since the split and has gone on the attack full blast.
Oscar De La Hoya has made Thursdays his usual day to bash mostly Canelo but others as well.
He lets Canelo and even Berlanga have it here saying Puerto Rico does not claim New Yorker Berlanga (according to De La Hoya):
Interesting.
Alvarez takes on Berlanga next month in a huge fight.
It is hoped next year a fight with David Benavidez can then be made for Canelo regardless of the result next month.
As for the above, De La Hoya’s company Golden Boy Promotions promoted and helped build the Canelo star for a long time over the years.
Their split was less than amicable and wished one another less than well as they parted company.
To put it mildly.
