That said, Alvarez got through all that and still got the job done beyond reasonable doubt anyway.

Cubans don’t always translate this amateur success into world title wins in the pro ranks — which is the top tier of boxing.
Sometimes they do however like Ugas in recent years.
He was an exception to that trend.
