Team USA had eight boxers in total at the 2024 Olympics but only came away with a single bronze medal from boxing.
A low tally that will see a revision of US amateur boxing as a whole in the weeks ahead.
Shakur Stevenson a talented amateur for the US at the Olympics in years gone by, now a pro champion, said the US on X must:
“The USA gotta start fighting fire power wit fire power they need to let they pros enter the Olympics too, I wouldn’t do that **** tho ion think I hate fighting for 3 rounds **** too quick”
Indeed there were a lot of already active professional boxers competing in boxing in this year’s shambolic Paris 2024 Olympics.
A games that saw scoring favorably to French fighters and the Olympics been lambasted for all sorts of reasons from beginning to end.

Pro fighters are better than amateur fighters and have an advantage.
Whether boxing is in the Olympics in 2028 is highly doubtful and if it is not, good riddance.
If it is the USA should enter active young professional boxers to even the playing field like Stevenson recommends above.
