One of the great Filipino boxing stories this year so far has been Nesthy Petecio.
Not just in the Olympics but the tremendous ability and skill of Petecio was shown again throughout the tournament.
Fellow Filipino Olympian Eumir Marcial is taken back by Petecio he says:
It will be interesting to see what Petecio chooses to do moving forward.
It is looking likely boxing will not be in the next 2028 Olympics so pursuing her pro career might be an option.
Particularly with women’s boxing growing in professional boxing now surely there will be many opportunities.
