Recently the IBA Boxing organization was in the news a lot in the Olympics amid the gender row at the 2024 games.
But who are they?
Interestingly, the International Boxing Association like the IOC (International Olympic Committee) are both organizations that are based in Switzerland.
This is often a huge red flag straight away due to the Swiss’ always contentious status legally in the world, like the Vatican city, as being dark, shady places (Malta to a lesser extent but considered similar too), that try to run from justice often times with corrupt organizations and people specifically in their ‘countries’/’places’.
The IBA had in fact been managing and administrating amateur boxing in some ways up until 2023 when the Olympics decided they had enough and kicked them out of boxing and the IOC took over regulating boxing at the Olympics.
IBA Boxing was founded all the way back in 1949 so have been around a long time.

However in recent years calls have come to reform the organization and particularly one of their sponsors that was linked to the shady, untrustworthy oil industry.
Here’s where things get interesting.
The IBA and IOC are not only based both in Switzerland (home to very shady and proven corrupt organizations such as WEF/Davos) but both organizations are in fact even in the same town as one another in Switzerland.
Lausanne.
That is more than just a coincidence that these two organizations who are apparently so bitter with one another at the moment are in reality next-door neighbors?
How does that make sense?

Ultimately, the IOC made a mess out of boxing at the Olympics and most are in favor of the IBA regulating the sport again if they continue to reform.
Namely get a new sponsor that is more aligned with the sports industry — a big player like Adidas sponsoring IBA Boxing and boxing at the Olympics would put amateur boxing back on track.
It’s only amateur boxing at the end of the day.
It does not represent the highest level of the sport.
Professional boxing does.
