Victor Ortiz was a well known world champion in professional boxing not long ago and revealed something some might not know.
When it came to sparring in Freddie Roach’s Wild Card Gym in Hollywood between him and one Manny Pacquiao things were like a real fight in the gym.
Speaking to DJ Vlad, Ortiz said:
“Man, we worked so much together. Freddie Roach, I can quote him, he said the best fights sparring he has ever seen in his life was between me sparring Manny Pacquiao. I won’t disclose what took place but it’s been great. (In response to asked if he knocked out Manny Pacquiao) I don’t know what that means? I have amnesia (laughs).”
Ortiz is not retired yet.
He returns to the ring on the 24th of this month against Rodrigo Coria in Mexico City on the undercard of Floyd Mayweather’s fight with John Gotti III in their rematch.
He is then booked to fight again one week after that on August 31st against an opponent to be named.
