It was a knockout, finishing punch victory for Manny Pacquiao in his legal battle finally in California.
For over 3 years Pacquiao faced something he was wronged in — in a court in California stemming from a defunct breached ‘illegal’ agreement by the side of Paradigm Sports Managment per the following:
Judge Walter Schwarm in the case correctly and aptly ruled that the contracts between Pacquiao and the other party were ‘illegal’.
Around 12 months after Pacquiao filed a motion stating Paradigm were not even a licensed manager under State to State law — in this case the California jurisdiction — at the time of the dispute.
The court found a defendant named in Paradigm Sports Management never even had a boxing manager’s license to begin with for the time period in question with dealings with Pacquiao.
Alas, it proved a big wake up call to other fighters when speaking to alleged managers, agents or spurious promoters around the world, no less.
The right decision in the end and Pacquiao can move on from something he never did any wrong in.
If anything, Pacquiao can now counter litigate for appropriate damages for his time wasted and expenses incurred in the last three years — which he has every right to claim back should he want to at a time of his choosing.
He is perfectly within his rights to and is fully entitled to if he decides to.
