This move from Turki Alalshikh soon could bring back the Rumble in the Jungle golden age even more for boxing.
Boxing is already in a golden age but to go to Africa in an outdoor stadium for a special world championship event would be off the hook.
Despite some conflict and upheaval currently in Africa — if anyone can do it — surely this man can (hat tip Boxing Kingdom on this again):
Boxing like it did in Ali’s days against Foreman can be used in such an event to unite people across the continent of Africa.
What a message. What a thing of brilliance it could truly be.
Only if it was an extraordinarily event however.
Involving a very rare gifted fighter.
Or a combination of two gifted fighters.
The story would need to be there before the stage was set.
Maybe as part of the story you could include Nico Ali Walsh, the grandson of Muhammad Ali, on the undercard.
It surely would not hurt such a show in Africa.
