Floyd Mayweather criticizes 2024 Olympics in latest big name in the world of boxing, sport and entertainment to throw gasoline on the Olympics fire.
Speaking at the Gotti III rematch press conference he said:
“Well the next Olympics I believe its going to be in Los Angeles. If we get behind it me and Richard Schaefer and our team I feel like more boxing should be broadcast on television. This year you didn’t see any Olympic boxing on television which I was disappointed. But you know I’m mainly into the professional fighters. Once you leave the Olympics then you come to me and I take you to the next level.”
There was also a number of pro fighters in the Olympics this year, a tournament usually reserved for amateur boxing and amateur fighters.
The whole Olympics was not well received at all this year and it is highly likely boxing will not feature in the 2028 Olympics.
Mayweather returns to the ring this weekend against John Gotti III in a rematch than ended in a brawl this year.
A large amount of professional boxing matches feature on the undercard.
As for the Olympics, it has been lambasted by so many this year, it won’t be hard for LA to do a better job than Paris at least in 2028.
