The pound for pound champion made an interesting move as big fights loom on the horizon.
The interesting thing is that Crawford decided to hold onto his WBA belt at 154 lbs. and gave up the WBA belt at welterweight:
Some are not that surprised in truth.
Why?
Because Crawford was looking at moving up properly for a while now.
If the Saul “Canelo” Alvarez super fight for him does happen at some point as well, it is wise to stay in the higher weight classes to get ready.
Recently he had a mandatory called at super-welterweight by the WBO so that likely could be next.
