Naoya Inoue “The Monster” of Japan went in there with TJ “The Power” Doheny a short time ago in boxing.
Here was the brutal finish of Doheny a short time ago:
In the beginning, the fight in Japan started off relatively even in round one with Inoue towards the end of the round switching attacks to the Doheny body.
Indeed, the first few rounds were relatively even and hard to call, a bit of a slow start from Inoue.
Inoue seems to be letting Doheny step on his foot and was finding the front foot tussle a challenge early on.
The southpaw style of Doheny seemed to trouble Inoue a bit early on, a possible weakness, southpaws and their lead left hands maybe for Inoue, or, at least something to work on.
Inoue started to settle a bit in round 4, however, a better round for him.
This continued in round 5 as bombs for Inoue started to show damage on Doheny at this point, even still, Inoue seemed only to be getting going in those rounds.
Inoue started to throw with more power as time went on but shipped some back too, the weight might not be the best weight for Inoue moving forward, if he drained himself too much that is.
Doheny to his credit for balance it should be mentioned actually out-boxed Inoue at times in some of the rounds, landing big punches on Inoue and Doheny also showed good defense, but overall, the better, more hurtful work started to come from Inoue in the mid rounds:
In the end Inoue then knocked out Irishman Doheny in brutal fashion no less — here it is again:
