Saul Canelo Alvarez took out Mexican previously undefeated Jaime Munguia earlier this year.
In some style too. A unanimous points decision on May 4th on another big Mexican weekend that night.
This weekend on Mexican Independence Day September 14th before he fights Edgar Berlanga of Puerto Rico — he told DAZN he held Munguia up the whole fight last time out:
The thing is Alvarez is a very quiet guy but when he comes across talkers or perceived to some loud mouths like Billy Joe Saunders (great fighter and misunderstood but he never fought again after Alvarez) and Edgar Berlanga, this often interests him in terms of putting on a more violent (very violent) beating in the ring.
Berlanga is a brave guy and a great puncher but Alvarez seems very focused this week.
A steely focus about him in his mentality, it impresses us this week.
Weigh-in day tomorrow will be interesting too of course to see how both have done the weight.
