Canelo is supremely confident going into this weekend’s Edgar Berlanga Fight.
You can’t blame him either. He’s been here before many times. Nothing new.
Alvarez speaking on “The Gloves Are Off” show said:
“No, no chance (Berlanga has to win). The experience I have, the intelligence I have, the boxing ability — I’ve already won on September 14th.”
He went on:
“I haven’t watched his fights closely. One of the days I’ll take a look to see what strategy we’ll use but I know he’s a strong fighter. But this is nothing new to me.”
Alvarez’ coach Eddy Reynoso added:
“Berlanga is like every other fighter. They all come wanting to be champions. But its one thing to want it, it’s another thing to see it through on fight night.”
Alvarez cut back and then said:
“You told me he broke a bag but bags don’t move. It was probably old and it broke. Like always I’ll give it my all in the ring and give a great fight for the fans. When we both have a winners mentality and leave it all in the ring. What happens is you get a great fight.”
All in all, one thing is clear and certain.
As long as this fight lasts — it will be entertaining.
Maybe, maybe, one of the best fights of the year potentially too.
The styles appear to gel well, Berlanga is undefeated and hits like a mule — and Mexico vs Puerto Rico on Mexican Indepdnece Day weekend.
Come on, you can’t ask for much more.
It doesn’t get much better than that in boxing.
