As we and many others mentioned if McGregor is not close to a UFC fight he may fight in professional boxing next up.
If not next up then very soon. McGregor has been on the sidelines in the UFC for a while now.
Here he is speaking this weekend with one of the boxing power players Turki Alalshikh:
The conversation with Alalshikh could mean a possible boxing bout or something else soon.
Dana White of the UFC has also mentioned he is getting into boxing soon and is working with Alalshikh so all things are possible for another professional boxing match for McGregor.
The question would be what kind of opponent they would match him with.
His only pro fight to date is a loss to all-time great Floyd Mayweather a few years back but did win some of the early rounds.
