The coming together of two pound for pound current stars in the sport of boxing happened in Japan.
Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez of Mexico and Inoue ‘The Monster’ of Japan.
Here the two met in Japan:
Viva Japan.
Interesting that Bivol in his fight with Beterbiev last weekend said he actually thinks Canelo hits harder with one single punch than Beterbiev did.
Almost crazy to think but Bivol would know having been in the ring with him.
He said Beterbiev hit harder with cumulative, combination of punches but Canelo hits harder with one punch.
Tells you ever more about the fight ability of Canelo that he chased (and still chases) greatness going up to light-heavyweight to fight Bivol when he had no business doing that at all in reality.
Fighters in today’s times are bigger at the weight than they were years ago and weight classes are there for a reason more than ever in today’s times.
It also puts in perspective Roy Jones some years ago going up from middleweight world champion to heavyweight world champion too, in terms of his achievement.
