Canelo and Trainer Meet Hall of Fame Japanese Promoter

The prospects of Canelo Alvarez having some sort of fight or event in Japan continue to increase by the day.

He has been received with a hero’s welcome in Japan.

Here the Mexican boxing star and former trainer of the year Eddy Reynoso met a Hall of Fame Promoter from Japan you might not have heard of:

Promoter Akihiko Honda was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2009.

People forget after America and Mexico, Japan has produced the most professional boxing world champions in the history of the sport.

Honda was involved in promoting Mike Tyson fights against Tony Tubbs and also when Tyson lost to Buster Douglas in Japan in the biggest upset in boxing history on February 11th 1990.
