One of America’s brightest new professional boxing prospects returns to action tonight in Norfolk.
Many have been keenly following Keyshawn Davis’ career as a pro since his Olympic and amateur impressive performances years ago.
He is taking to the pros like a duck to water and doing quite well.
Speaking to the folks at Fight Hub Keyshawn Davis said:
“Alright, give me about five minutes because I need to take care of something real quick. I’m seeing a lot of negative stuff going on right now—what’s happening? I thought y’all loved the businessman. I thought you all liked when I show up at press conferences and weigh-ins. Isn’t that what y’all liked about me? Everyone’s talking about this and that, but where are the real businessman fans at? Put a star up if you’re a real fan, because I’ve been seeing a lot of hate this week.
First off, did you guys see that six-pound weight discrepancy? Six pounds? That’s crazy. I almost thought about calling the fight off. He was like 141-something. You might as well fight at 147. That’s a 147-pounder I’m going up against, not a 140-pounder. Six pounds over? That’s insane. So when I go in there and put hands on this dude, what are y’all going to say then? “Oh, he’s still not ready?” Or, “He can’t take power?” What’s the excuse going to be? I just fought a 147-pounder! In fact, after this fight, I’m going to 147. I’m not playing around. Who’s the top dog at 147? Don’t even bring up light-skinned fighters on this page. Please, don’t bring them up. No offense to light-skinned people—I’m light-skinned too. My son’s light-skinned, you know what I’m saying? Just playing.
But anyway, I’m eating the remedy, y’all. This is the reason I’m probably moving up to 147, no cap. Some people have been saying I need to stop doing the crazy eyes thing, that it’s getting played out. Let me tell you something—I don’t do that for the camera. That’s just me. It’s not an act. I don’t act on camera. I don’t act in the ring. I’m not an actor. I just do me, and if you don’t like it, that’s on you. Everything I do isn’t for the fans; sometimes it’s for my opponent. So you can either like it or not—it’s just the way it is.
By the way, to all the 65 or so viewers right now, tune in to ESPN Plus tomorrow. If you want a little preview, head over to my YouTube channel. You know what I’m saying? It’s nothing to it but to do it. Who’s the real DB3 supporters here? Post the number 3 in the comments! Let me see who’s really supporting me.
Now, this is the part where I pop my [expletive] a little bit. If you want to hear the facts, stay right here. Let’s talk about it. I’m 11-0 with seven knockouts. I’ve sold 10,000 tickets. Stop playing with me. Name me a fighter who’s 11-0 selling like the businessman in the history of boxing. Show me one. There’s 600 people watching right now. Do your research. Who’s selling like me right now in boxing?
And I’m not talking about YouTube fighters or some other nonsense. I’m talking about real fighters—who’s selling like me at 11-0? I’ll wait. We’re not talking about light-skinned dudes either. You guys keep mentioning them, but that’s not the same thing.
For real though, who else has sold like this before they became a world champion? Outside of Ryan Garcia, who’s done it?
Y’all are funny, saying “Kid” or whatever. But look, long story short, I’ve got a big fight tomorrow. And y’all know how I do—every time I go live, I get hyped. I’m doing this on my own today, but I’m still bringing the energy. Everything y’all see from me on camera is authentic. It’s not fake. I don’t plan out my moves. I just do it. And it’s not always for the fans to like. Sometimes it’s for my opponent—to see how they react.
But let’s get back to it. Tomorrow’s the fight. And y’all better watch, because I’m bringing that action. No cap. I don’t just fight, I entertain. And y’all know it. Every time I step in the ring, it’s going to be a show. Whether you like it or not, I’m bringing the heat. That’s why I have so many fans. I’m just entertaining.
And for those of you talking about sparring or whatever, who cares? I don’t need anyone to make my name. I’m doing this on my own. If someone wants to fight me, they can send a contract. But I don’t need anybody. I’m making moves on my own, and I’m gonna keep getting money whether they fight me or not. So don’t get it twisted.
I don’t need to call out every fighter. I’m not out here chasing anyone. But when I do fight, it’s going to be big. Look at my first main event—I gave y’all a real fight. This is my homecoming. I could’ve fought some bum, but I’m fighting Gustavo. You know what I’m saying?
Also, big shoutout to Boots and the Zone Boxing tomorrow. It’s a doubleheader. You’ve got Ben Rodriguez and Jome Boot fighting. Two amazing fighters back-to-back. You know I’m fighting too, so don’t miss it.
But back to me—11-0, 7 knockouts, and 10,000 tickets sold. Stop playing. I’m real, and I’m bringing real action. So tune in tomorrow. When you see me fight, you’ll fall in love with me, no matter what combat sports you like.
Alright, y’all. I’ve got to wrap it up. Go to my YouTube channel right now—Kean Davis. Watch my latest video. I’m not playing. I need to see at least 200 of y’all over there. It’s lit. We’ve got 300 viewers here, but I need y’all on my YouTube now. Go ahead and check it out.
And remember, I’m the main event tomorrow. I’m 11-0, 7 knockouts, and sold 10,000 tickets. You’re going to see why I’m that guy. Don’t miss it. Tell your friends and family, and get them to watch.
Now, last thing—if you didn’t know, I’m the real deal. I don’t need anyone else to make my name. I’m making my own path. Y’all just sit back and enjoy the show.”
Tonight 25-year-old Davis (who is 11-0-7 KO) nicknamed ‘The Businessman’ takes on Gustavo Daniel Lemos (who came in six pounds overweight) in Norfolk, Virginia, USA in the lightweight division.
