Mike Tyson On Why He Beats Jake Paul: Because I Am Mike Tyson

Mike Tyson On Why He Beats Jake Paul Because I Am Mike Tyson

Fight week is here for Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson and Friday night in Texas will see something different for the sport of boxing.

Something that will go outside of boxing and sport into mainstream new media across the world. What a fight and event that beckons.

Speaking at the official face to face on fight week they said:

“Mike Tyson: “Why am I going to win this fight? Because I’m Mike Tyson. It’ll be the biggest moment in boxing history when I put this man to sleep. He thinks this is going to be an easy night, but it’s not. We made history together before, and now we have a chance to make history again. This fight is going to be just as big, if not bigger, than the last one. We’re just days away from the biggest boxing event in recent memory: Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson, Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano. This is a pay-per-view event on Netflix, and this is MVP’s Face to Face.”

Host: “Gentlemen, how are you doing? Good to see you, good to meet you. Look, we’re going to maintain order here. You’ll each have 45 seconds to answer my question, and the opponent will have 45 seconds to respond. Think of this like a presidential debate. Yeah, tell me about it. All right, all right. Hopefully, it’s not a 2v1 situation like Trump had to deal with. No, we’re good, we’re good. You guys ready? Let’s go!”

Host: “Mike, why did you agree to take this fight with Jake Paul?”

Mike Tyson: “I believe this is going to be great for boxing, and I believe I’m going to win.”

Host: “Jake, why did you agree to take the fight with Mike?”

Jake Paul: “He’s a legend. This is one of the two most famous boxers to ever live—him and Muhammad Ali. This is a dream come true for me. I’m inspired by Mike, his story, and what he’s persevered through. To be able to fight him and share the ring with such a legend is a special moment, and it’s historic. And the fact that we’re doing this with Netflix makes it the biggest fight of the century. That’s what I love to do—make history, have fun, and go to war.”

Jake Paul (cont’d): “Everything we’re doing here means so much for boxing. I saw this happening when I first got into the sport, and I could already see the impact it would have on the next generation of kids wanting to be like Mike or me. There will be 700 million people watching on Netflix, and the effect this has on the sport is unimaginable.”

Host: “Mike, what does it mean to be fighting Jake Paul, and what does this mean for boxing?”

Mike Tyson: “Honestly, boxing has never seen anything like this in its history, not in the last 250 years. This is something new and different. And it probably never will again.”

Host: “Mike, what does it say about you if you knock out a 27-year-old Jake Paul?”

Mike Tyson: “It’s going to be big, no doubt about it. It’s not just some random 27-year-old, it’s Jake Paul. This is going to be huge.”

Host: “Jake, same question. What does it mean if you knock out a 58-year-old Mike Tyson?”

Jake Paul: “When it happens, it’s going to be bittersweet. I’ve got a lot of love and respect for Mike, but at the end of the day, we’re going to war. He’s trying to take the food off my plate, and I’m trying to take it off his. But for me, this fight is the culmination of everything I’ve worked for. I’ve been dreaming about this and manifesting it. This fight will mark the beginning of a new chapter in my career, and I’ll show the world who I really am.”

Jake Paul (cont’d): “I’ve been doubted my whole career. People said my fights were rigged, they’ve canceled me multiple times, but I’ve kept going. Now I’m putting on one of the biggest events in entertainment. This shows the power of hard work and perseverance. I want to show kids who are going through adversity that they can fight through it too.”

Host: “So you’re saying, ‘When it happens.’ So you believe you’re going to knock out Mike Tyson?”

Jake Paul: “It’s already written.”

Host: “Alright, that’s some serious confidence. This is the baddest man on the planet we’re talking about right here. But I love that confidence, Jake. I like it.”

Host (cont’d): “Mike, a lot of people point to your fight with Kevin McBride and say that’s when your skills started to fade. What do you say to that?”

Mike Tyson: “My life has changed since then. I decided to fight Roy Jones, and I was successful. Now, we’re here, fighting again. People shouldn’t keep bringing up the past. That was then, this is now. This is the biggest event in the history of events right now.”

Jake Paul: “Critics will always criticize. They sit on their couches and talk because they’re unhappy with their own lives. They’ll try to tear down people like Mike and me, who are actually out here doing something. I’ve had four years in professional boxing, and in that time, I’ve learned more than most pro boxers in a decade. I’m the fastest-growing boxer in the sport. When people call my wins ‘rigged,’ I used to get upset, but now I take it as a compliment. They just can’t comprehend how much I’ve grown.”

Host: “Let me ask you, Jake. Does the constant criticism bother you?”

Jake Paul: “At first, it did. But now I see it as a sign that I’m doing something right. People can’t understand how far I’ve come, and that’s why they criticize.”

Host: “Mike, a lot of people point to your inactivity and your age. How do you respond to that?”

Mike Tyson: “I’m ready. I’ve been preparing. I’ve been in the gym, working hard. Activity is important, but I’m just focused and ready to go.”

Host: “Jake, you’ve fought three times this year, and had three fights last year. Does that kind of activity make you a better boxer?”

Jake Paul: “Yes, 100%. I need to stay active to keep improving and to reach my goal of becoming a world champion. That’s why I fight three times a year. The more I’m in the ring, the better I get. It’s all about performing under the bright lights and with that adrenaline. That’s how you get better.”

Host: “Mike, does a loss to Jake Paul damage your legacy?”

Mike Tyson: “I don’t care about legacy. Legacy is all about ego, and who cares about that? I’m not worried about losing. He’s not going to win.”

Host: “Jake, what about you? If you beat Mike Tyson, especially by knocking him out, what does that do for your legacy?”

Jake Paul: “It would be the biggest moment in all of boxing history. When I put him to sleep on Friday night, that’s going to be huge.”

Mike Tyson: “Dreams. It’s all just dreams. This is not going to come true for you, young man.”

Jake Paul: “Hey, I respect your opinion, but it’s just my time. The universe knows it, I know it, and soon you’ll know it too.”

Host: “Next week, we’ll see. That’s the beauty of boxing—the truth comes out in the ring.”

Jake Paul: “Yeah, I’m definitely concerned. If Mike hits me flush on the chin, I know it could be lights out. He’s one of the deadliest punchers in history. He has the power. But I’ll be ready. I’m training hard, and I’ll be ready to persevere through whatever he throws at me.”

Host: “Mike, you called Jake a manufactured killer. What’s your response to that, Jake?”

Jake Paul: “I’d say the deadliest weapon in the world is manufactured. A nuke. That’s what a manufactured killer is—a force to be reckoned with.”

Jake Paul (cont’d): “But I think it’s scarier to be a peaceful person who chooses not to kill than it is to choose to become a killer.”

Host: “Mike, you’ve criticized Jake’s boxing skills. What does it say about you if you lose?”

Mike Tyson: “I’m not going to lose. I can’t even imagine it. He’s not going to win. He thinks it’s going to be easy, but it’s not going to be easy for him.”

Jake Paul: “I don’t think it’s going to be easy either. It’s going to be a war, a war for the ages. The fans are going to be the real winners.”

Jake Paul (cont’d): “I know your soul, Mike, and I know mine. Neither one of us is going to quit. I could be bleeding, I could be down on the canvas, and I won’t stop. I know you won’t stop either, and that’s what makes this fight so beautiful.”

Host: “Mike, you’ve had a great career, but in many ways, this might be the biggest event you’ve ever been a part of. What does this night and this matchup mean to you?”

Mike Tyson: “First of all, no one else can do this but me. This is the biggest boxing match in the history of boxing, and it’s because I’m a part of it.””

Tyson will have many people in his corner around the world, maybe billions, which he should know.

Paul is seen as the villain but put this event together so deserves credit.

After this, Tyson must sail into the sunset but before that expect all hell to break loose in the ring Friday in Arlington, Texas.
