One of the premier fighters in the sport today Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis was not happy with what he saw.
In terms of the main event last night between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson.
Speaking after the fight per Only Full Fights on Facebook he said:
“To the bozo that shared the ring with Mike.. you a whole bozo for this and you didn’t get the job done **** head..”
“[Mike], You will forever be a legend..rather you like it or not and there will never be another one! And I understand you so well..all this **** don’t mean nothing.”
Well. There you have it. Like a dead crooked cop, that fight will be forgotten about quickly.
However, the event itself at the end of the day was a huge success in many ways as the undercard was tremendous and proved the model of live streaming sport works on a technological level for Netflix, who now see live streaming sport works well through the sport of boxing.
A major win for boxing and Netflix can bid on better fights in 2025 and pick and choose within boxing for the fights they like, as opposed to committing to a regular schedule like the NFL.
Netflix will now have proof of concept and feasibility in all aspects to live streaming professional sporting events and boxing but again, boxing works easiest as it can come into the sport for big fights moving forward without that schedule or Commissioner to deal with, while making a lot of money quickly and easily, without much effort.
It is a win-win for Netflix.
What a win for boxing, Netflix and the live streaming industry this weekend — in the big picture.
The Netflix servers briefly went down before round 1 of Paul vs Tyson but they held strong in the end.
