Both champion Usyk and Tyson Fury are ready to fight almost today it seems ahead of their super fight and rematch this month.
They are both training hard and with the fight on December 21st, not long to go now.
Speaking at the official face off both fighters said:
“Reporter: Tell us about this hairstyle—are you doing the Tyson Fury starter kit?
Usyk: (Laughs) Well, you know, I have a shaved head now. It’s like a memory of the past. My first fight is in the past; now, my focus is on December 21st.
Reporter: You look like an assassin, or a sexy beast. The shaved head suits you. Speaking of the first fight in May, when you watch it back, how do you feel? Do you think you clearly won?
Usyk: My hands were raised, so yes, I won. But if Tyson thinks he won, no problem. On December 21st, we’ll settle it for sure. We both fought our best in the first fight.
Fury: It was a great fight. His country is at war, so people sided with him, but make no mistake, I believe I won. I said it before, and I’ll say it again—I thought I won, but I congratulated him and kissed his cross. No excuses. He got the decision, and I respect that. It’s on to the next one.
Reporter: Tyson, you described one punch in the fight as a “punch from the gods.” Why?
Fury: He could have thrown that punch a million times, and it might not have had the same effect. But it landed perfectly, and that’s boxing.
Usyk: Tyson is good, but even after landing those big shots, he couldn’t finish me. He had his chance, but I stayed standing.
Fury: Like Tupac said, “Hit me with your best shot,” but I’m still here.
Reporter: There were tensions in the buildup to the last fight. Tyson, your father was involved in an incident. Will this happen again?
Fury: That’s not happening again. This fight doesn’t need drama—it’s already a classic in the making. Two of the best heavyweights of this century are fighting again. Boxing fans can’t miss this.
Usyk: This is for the undisputed heavyweight championship. It’s a blessing for boxing fans. I want both of us to have great training camps, stay healthy, and give it our all.
Reporter: Tyson, you mentioned in the first fight you fought going backward. Will your strategy change this time?
Fury: Not really. I’m a slick counterpuncher, and I’ll stick to what works. The first fight was close, so I don’t need to change much. If I stay sharp and focused, I’ll win.
Reporter: Usyk, you’ve said Tyson shouldn’t “run” this time. Do you think he was running?
Usyk: No, not running. But this time, I won’t let him off the hook.
Fury: It’s a boxing match—we’re both experienced fighters. There’s no fear here.
Frank Warren: This fight is for everything. Whoever wins cements their legacy as the best heavyweight of this century. If Usyk wins again, it’s settled. If Tyson wins, there might be a trilogy. Both men are brilliant fighters with great boxing intellect. It’s the biggest fight of our time.
Fury: My final words? Good luck in training camp, Usyk. Come prepared, and let’s put on a great fight.
Usyk: Same to you. Dangerous place ahead, but we’ll make it a great one.”
It really is the biggest heavyweight title fight of all time in many ways.
A true worldwide coming together of the East and West on Earth through the sport of boxing on December 21st in Saudi Arabia.
Roll on.
