It is election season in the sport of boxing in its biggest vote and prize for fighters and others in the sport, past and present.
That is the International Boxing Hall of Fame of course.
One Filipino legend called Manny Pacquiao features a lot in this year’s class ahead in 2025 that takes place as usual in New York.
World renowned writer Dan Rafael notes in his newsletter that Pacquiao got his vote as the one ‘slam dunk’ he had in the modern men section.
ESPN’s Mike Coppinger again noted he picked Pacquiao out of the 42 options available.
Pacquiao of course is an eight-time division champion and the only man to ever do that in boxing history.
It is an easy choice to vote for him in the 2025 Hall of Fame, alas.
As for Pacquiao, it is understood he is not finished yet in boxing and will compete again at some point.
News is hoped to be confirmed soon as Pacquiao is set to have a run in politics again next year in February, most likely, in the Philippines, so if fighting a serious boxing match where he has to put time aside for training for one opponent with no last minute changes, he will need to confirm that opponent surely before the end of the year.
The 2025 Hall of Fame class will be unveiled at some point tomorrow shortly.
