Former lineal champion Tyson Fury appears to be taking the Usyk rematch deadly serious on December 21st in the Middle East.
So is Usyk at the same time.
This is interesting from Boxing Kingdom on X on Fury:
“Tyson Fury has made the following decisions heading into the Oleksandr Usyk rematch:
The same coaching team will be used
Fury will maintain a similar weight to the first fight
Fury will use the same fight plan as the first fight Is this a genius move by Tyson Fury, or will this backfire?”
Well, as regards the coaching team, he has done well with them so far but maybe one voice in between rounds is best, that goes for any boxer or team as well.
On the weight, that’s where it gets interesting.
This is an advantage for Fury and he has shown sometimes being lighter works for him, sometimes being heavier works for him, depending on his tactics and also on the opponent.
Both Fury and Usyk have learned a lot about one another technically from the first fight.
It really comes down to who makes the adjustments best and is more switched on, this is where things get important for Fury.
If he is more switched on and focused, on the game plan, he did have some success with it last time out.
Not many are really talking about Usyk’s game plan though, will he try to take the fight to Fury early on or more a stick and move, even more so than last time, speed type game plan.
We shall see.
