Pacquiao On Potentially Brining New Boxing Format To The Philippines

Manny Pacquiao was recently inducted into the Boxing Hall of Fame but he is looking to do big things for the sport in his country.

The Filipino boxing legend is also a promoter and is not retired as a fighter just yet from the sport.

At the weekend just gone he was in Dubai for the IBA conference where the world’s leading professional fighters were in attendance.

IBA will look to do amateur and professional boxing and Pacquiao said of it in Dubai via Instagram:

As we understand it IBA will still be doing mostly amateur boxing but there will be some professional events throughout the year in 2025 as well.

Maybe between 15 to 20 overall for the year bring pro, the rest and the majority being amateur events including the 2025 World Championships.
