Canelo Alvarez had another strong year conquering boxing and the world, one of his wins being against Berlanga.
Edgar Berlanga that is. Alvarez beat him on points.
Dan Rafael has got a huge reaction on X with this on the fight a short time ago:
“Because Canelo carried him (Berlanga). He as much admitted it. At one point I think rd 10 or so he literally held him up so he wouldn’t get knocked down.”
Ultimately Berlanga is now a big name in the sport after the fight.
Even bigger than what he was before it.
That is the Canelo effect.
Canelo changes people’s lives when they fight him, he takes them to the next level.
He can pick and choose and name his price anytime he wants.
It would be good to see him fight David Benavidez though in 2025, it would be the icing on top to the resume.
