Promoter of Anthony Joshua, Eddie Hearn, has been revealed to be on the broadcast team this weekend in Saudi Arabia.
The rematch between Usyk and Tyson Fury on Saturday is something Hearn will have a keen eye on for all reasons.
Speaking to the Stomping Ground Hearn said:
โTSGโs Edwardinho is part of the broadcast team, and weโre hearingโฆ Well, I think itโs time for some serious punditry. Iโve been deeply offended by the DAZN production team and executives who had the audacity to call me during the week and say, โLook, we really feel like we need some big names for the Usyk-Fury presentation teamโsomeone with incredible boxing knowledge, someone highly respected, someone whoโs just a great all-around personality. Do you happen to have anyoneโs number?โ
I thought, Not to be funny, but whoโs a bigger name for the broadcast team than me? No one! Then they asked, โWould you do it?โ I said, โOf course!โ I donโt have a fighter in the main event, so Iโll be part of the broadcast team. Iโll bring it to you rawโIโll tell the truth, be controversial, and show my unwavering patriotism for our man Tyson Fury. And of course, weโll talk about the potential for an Anthony Joshua fight, too. Even more reason to buy the pay-per-view on DAZN!
Eddie Hearn is also part of the broadcast team for Fury vs. Usyk.
On the fight itself, very quicklyโlook, I know youโve been back and forth on this. You can never underestimate Oleksandr Usyk, but at the same time, you canโt underestimate Tyson Fury either. Correct? I think it would be incredibly hard to pick anyone other than Usyk to win this fight.
Can Fury win? Absolutely. But heโll have to do something extraordinary next Saturday to beat Oleksandr Usyk. That said, I also believe Tyson Fury is a man capable of doing extraordinary things. So, get up for Tyson Fury! Iโm 100% Team Fury. I love Usyk, but weโre backing the Brits, and weโre all hoping Fury gets the job done.
To the DAZN viewersโwhat can they expect to see? Edwardinho: Well, apart from me being unbelievably handsome and sparkling on the broadcast, theyโll see deep knowledge of the sport. Iโve been around boxing for nearly 40 years. Iโve probably seen more fights than 99.999% of people in the sport.
Hopefully, Iโll be more coherent on the broadcast than I am right now. But you can expect ego, arrogance, knowledge, charm, humor, patriotismโand yes, Iโll probably get under a few peopleโs skin.โ
Classic Hearn with the humor there but obviously there is some serious elements too above.
Mainly on what he thinks on the fight, in that Usyk is the favorite and Fury will have to pull a classic performance out of the bag.
Obviously he is backing his countryman but thatโs purely because he wants that Fury vs Anthony Joshua fight to happen too at some point, which, if Fury wins, would be massive.
