This week one of the most interesting parts of information ahead of the Oleksandr Usyk vs Muhammad Ali rematch has been revealed.
Muhammad Ali is considered the greatest of all-time for many reasons.
Usyk is surely a future all-time great having dominated cruiserweight and heavyweight.
Here are five things per BoxRaw on X that Ali and Usyk share:
“Same birthday on January 17th
Same height of 6′ 3″
Same reach of 78″
Both Olympic Gold medalists
Both undisputed HW champions”
Wow. Some of that is rather random in that they are the same birthday and even exact same physical dimensions.
Today’s heavyweights are much taller and heavier than Ali’s times, it should be noted for balance.
Obviously no one is comparing Usyk to Ali yet but the above pieces of data are very interesting to say the least.
Although Usyk’s opponent on Saturday doesn’t box predictably at all, in Fury, sometimes he is random with no real pattern recognition for Usyk to go on if you go over Fury’s career — he has switched stance and boxed southpaw at times.
Ultimately Usyk is in the fight of his life with Tyson Fury in their rematch this weekend Saturday night in Saudi Arabia.
