Tyson Fury is in focused and violent, silent form this week ahead of the biggest fight of his life when he rematches Oleksandr Usyk on Saturday.
A true clash of boxing titans in a rematch from their first fight earlier this which Usyk won by the slimmest of margins on points earlier in 2024.
Speaking at the pre-fight workouts Fury noted:
“Planes, trains, automobiles, and now a boat! What surprises are left for Saturday?”
“Pain,” Fury replied. “A lot of pain. Smash and damage.”
Last time, Fury was clean-shaven. This time, he’s keeping the beard. When asked about his motto for the weekend, he said, “Hurt. Serious hurt. A lot of damage.”
Indeed Usyk will be looking to do the same thing too of course.
How the fight plays out is up in the air and has split pundits and fans alike.
The first bell will tell all of course but it will be interesting not just to see the weight on Friday at the weigh-ins but also who seems more focused, and what, if any, mental edge is there ahead of the first bell.
