A large number of people thought Tyson Fury did enough to win more rounds than Usyk in their mega fight rematch.
Ultimately Usyk won a unanimous points decision tonight in boxing.
Speaking to Talk Sport’s Gareth A. Davies after the fight Hall of Fame Promoter Frank Warren said:
“I’m sitting next to Oscar De La Hoya who is a neutral who had him winning by 3 rounds. I thought it was at least 3 rounds. Bob Arum had him winning by more than that. Everybody along that row there and Usyk’s people were sitting there, and I’m telling you, they were despondent (after the fight ended).”
What a great fight though for the fans.
A chess match, yes, but both fighters fought heavy when they had to as well and closed the final round of the fight in some fashion for fans.
A lot of fans did boo the decision after the fight ended.
Tyson Fury is without question an all-time great heavyweight regardless of what he does next and has plenty remaining in him to box at the highest level and win the world title if he still wants to.
Credit to Usyk on a remarkable journey in boxing.
Many now believe Usyk to be the best boxer in the world today pound for pound.
