Heavyweight contender Dillian Whyte from the UK gives his take on what he saw last weekend in Saudi Arabia.
In the heavyweight title fight that Usyk won again over Tyson Fury.
Speaking to IFL TV Whyte said:
“I thought it was a great fight. Both fighters made adjustments from the first fight. Obviously Fury done alright he had more energy and was more active. Usyk seemed to just close out the rounds a bit stronger. Mostly Usyk was just a bit smarter. Mostly he seemed to just work a bit harder of the last 30 seconds of the round. Remember in these close fights, these long hard fights, the judges mainly remember what they see at the last part of the round.”
He later added:
“No. I think Usyk won that by two or three rounds.”
Most people had the fight very close either way they scored it.
Both boxers will have plenty of options in 2025 and plenty of things to say yes or no to in terms of opportunities.
Fury needs to do what’s best for him. Same with Usyk.
Usyk can do what he wants as champion.
