Some tragic news has struck the sport of boxing this Christmas season as one of its warriors has fallen at a very young age in some sudden news.
35-year-old New York resident Paul Bamba was a contender at cruiserweight and had even surpassed Mike Tyson’s record of 13 knockouts in a calendar year (1986) – as Bamba reeled in 14 knockouts in one year this year.
However his promoter, the musician Neyo released the following statement with Bamba’s family on his sudden death as follows:
Such tragic news, the fighter had such a great year in America and South America this year.
Born in Puerto Rico and he had been living in New York — he will be missed by many.
Rest in peace.
