In the movies and Hollywood industry Rotten Tomatoes is generally thought of as the number one review panel so this is big for Shields and boxing.
Boxing movies and the big screen are often a big hit but this is a new ratings high surely in recent times.
Claressa Shields’ ‘The Fire Inside’ movie on her life and career has proved to be an instant success and hit per the following on X – what an amazing Christmas day this year — successful to say the least:
“So let’s talk about it! A whole biopic about my life & my journey in boxing but only 2 female champions have said anything about it! But y’all love to call me a hater! FOh! These girls been hating on me! That’s why I shine so bright
AND Still! GOD GONNA ALWAYS DO HIS BIG ONE FOR ME!”
It is very rare for a movie to rate so highly from Rotten Tomatoes straight out of the gates like that.
ESPN will not be the only ones on the phone after the above, oh yes, much more, much bigger in 2025.
What a story for Shields and the sport of boxing.
Kudos.
The fact Shields is only 29-years-old and has achieved the above, as well as the first woman ever as a double Olympic Gold champion but then — to go way further than that — and become the only female in history to win a middleweight and heavyweight professional world title — is unreal.
Frankly, there are no words for all of this from Shields.
People like ESPN, Forbes and America are extremely fortunate to have her.
That is putting it very, very mildly and lightly too, seriously.
After the above this Christmas, 2025 will be something kind of different — quite special certainly.
All in all, another notch in the belt for the sport of boxing worldwide too.
