The dust has settled on the Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson fight and event but the numbers and records are still trickling in.
The event had strong action on the undercard with the main event seeing an older Tyson — who nearly died earlier this year from loss of blood in a health scare — last the full duration and lose on points to a much younger Jake Paul.
The fight has been confirmed to be streamed by more people than recent NFL Superbowl shows from Beyonce and more — by some margin too — as Paul’s company announced on X this new record:
“Netlfix, MVP & the NFL hold the record for the top 5 most streamed US Sporting events ever. They not like us. MVPs Paul Vs Tyson was only distributed on Netflix. The NFL viewer figures include the audience on Netflix, mobile viewership on NFL+ and those who tuned in on broadcast television CBS stations in Pittsburgh, Kansas City, Baltimore and Houston.”
What a massive, massive commercial success for Netflix as a company and the sport of boxing worldwide too.
Netflix not only will have seen a huge lift in subscribers but huge brand growth across the West too from the above.
A proven success now that will see Netflix most likely come back into the sport again, with something else this time, after the tremendous numbers above.
