Soon boxing star Ryan Garcia’s one year suspension from the sport of boxing will be over and he is due a comeback fight.
Following beating Devin Haney in 2024 the fight was changed to a no-contest after Garcia failed a post fight drugs test, causing a suspension in the US from pro boxing for 12 months.
That is up next year however and his promoter Oscar De La Hoya is looking to work with him soon.
Speaking to Fight Hub De La Hoya said:
“Ryan is reinstated April 26th (2025) I believe. I am ready to sit down with Ryan to discuss his future both short term and long term and make sure he is well prepared mentally and physically to face the very best.”
On the exhibitions recently not happening for Garcia:
“We did know about it. At one point Ryan was talking about fighting twice before he comes back from suspension. It didn’t pan out. It didn’t work out. Ryan has such a passion for the sport. He loves boxing. He loves being in the gym. He loves training. That’s what he’s missing. We have to get him back inside the ring.”
Indeed, Garcia needs to be training and working all the time.
