2025 is underway and fights at the highest level of big time boxing are being put together all over the shop everywhere.
That is what the boxing world wants to see.
As regards pound for pound star Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez Jake Donovan posts on X:
“I have good & bad news on Canelo-William Scull talks. You can decide which is the good and bad since it’s the same update. – Yes, Scull’s team has been contacted. – Scull is one of SEVERAL options being explored (and not necessarily first or even second choice).”
On WBC world flyweight champion Kenshiro Teraji he adds on X:
“For those who asked and wondered why Kenshiro Teraji wasn’t announced as part of this show… It’s because he will instead headline his own card in terrific WBC/WBA flyweight unification vs Seigo Yuri Akui. Bout is targeted for March in Tokyo.”
“Will mark just third ever time that two reigning titlists from Japan will meet in unification. Kenshiro will now be involved in two of them – def. Hiroto Kyoguchi for RING/WBC/WBA 108 crown in 2022. Kazuto Ioka-Akira Yaegashi (WBC/WBA 105) in 2012 was the other.”
Some big updates there.
No question about it.
2025 promises to be a big one to say the least for the sport of boxing worldwide across all divisions.
