Boxing is going through a new time that is seeing shortly later this year the sport elevated to genuinely never before seen levels.
In a continued rapid growth time and boom time for boxing. So much so the UFC and Dana White, and new governments like India and more, want in on boxing, everything boxing will touch will turn to Gold as usual when it focuses as a sport, and the appropriate people work together at the appropriate time.
On the above, a new league in boxing is being proposed by America and Saudi Arabia, in terms of the latter’s government and the former’s businessman, Dana White, among others.
Saudi Arabia adviser Turki Alalshikh who won boxing Man of the Year in 2024 said he wants these five fights this year so far on X from Ring Magazine per the Carl Froch ‘Froch on Fighting Podcast’:
Good fights.
No question about it.
He went on to mention per Ring Magazine on X:
“Turki Alalshikh: “We must now have it be normal to lose some fights in boxing. All the fighters want similar to the career of Floyd Mayweather – zero losses. This can happen one time every 50/60/70 years. We need like the UFC model now, where the champions are losing and winning. Muhammad Ali lost five times and he’s still the legend.” [Froch on Fighting]”
For sure.
Mayweather, while a living legend and all-time great, was from a different era.
The new era will be more like Muhammad Ali’s times where the best are always fighting the best regularly both at heavyweight and in all divisions.
In boxing’s magnificent return to the top tier of the pantheon of all professional sport worldwide.
Tremendous times ahead in 2025 for boxing and beyond.
Fights, fights, fights, knockouts, knockouts, knockouts, and then some.
No resting on laurels, ever.
