Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez was in attendance at the 2024 Ring Magazine awards in London and spoke all things his career.
Alvarez travelling all the way from Mexico to London speaks volumes to how big this year’s awards were in the sport.
Speaking at the Ring Magazine awards this weekend Alvarez said:
“It means a lot. I’m one of the only fighters to win in four different weight classes. The Ring Magazine is history so I’m glad to be here.”
He added on fight of the year:
“A lot of good fights there. I think it is disrespectful to say just one fight. But there’s a lot of good fights there. Tyson Fury with Usyk (was good). I think there’s a lot of good fights there.”
On if he will fight Terence Crawford:
“Oh, it is always there is a chance there. We will see. We will see. Always there is a chance there. We are here to make the best deals. We will see.”
He also spoke on the Bivol rematch with Berterbiev soon:
“I think this is another great fight. Both fighters are good fighters. I think both fighters have a chance to win. Like the first one. That’s a really good fight.”
Alvarez stepped up in weight to fight Bivol some years ago and although he lost, showed how much he is willing to chase greatness.
Hopefully some big fights will happen for Alvarez this year.
The Crawford fight or David Benavidez fight would be excellent that boxing fans both want to see.
